Benefits of Netra Tharpanam Treatment.

The Three Stages of Netra Tharpanam Therapy.

  1. Consultation :- Before the treatment, an Ayurvedic practitioner evaluates the individual’s eye health and determines the appropriate type of medicated ghee to use.

  2. Hygiene :- The eyes and surrounding area are thoroughly cleaned to remove any makeup, dirt, or impurities.
  1. Dough Ring :- A soft dough made from whole wheat or black gram flour is prepared to form a ring around each eye. This acts as a protective barrier to contain the ghee.
  2. Positioning :- The individual lies down comfortably, and the dough rings are placed around the eyes, ensuring they are secure and leak-proof.
  1. Warm Ghee :- The medicated ghee is gently warmed to a comfortable temperature, ensuring it is neither too hot nor too cold.
  2. Filling the Rings :- The warmed ghee is carefully poured into the dough rings, covering the eyes completely.
  1. Relaxation :- The individual is asked to open and close their eyes intermittently, allowing the ghee to coat the eyes thoroughly.
  2. Duration :- The ghee is allowed to remain in the eyes for about 15 to 30 minutes, depending on the individual’s needs and the practitioner’s guidance.
  1. Ghee Removal :- After the prescribed duration, the medicated ghee is gently removed, and the eyes are cleaned with a soft, damp cloth or cotton pads.
  2. Rest :- The individual is advised to rest for a short period, avoiding exposure to bright lights or screens immediately after the treatment.
  1. Diet and Lifestyle :- The practitioner may provide dietary and lifestyle recommendations to support eye health and enhance the treatment’s benefits.
  2. Herbal Supplements : -Herbal eye drops or supplements may be suggested to further improve eye health and prevent future issues.
